I first became interested in investing while at university- my grandfather passed away and left me £5,000. I spent £1,000 of it on a stock trading course, and I promptly lost the remaining £4,000. That experience ignited a passion for investing, combined with a desire to really understand how people can actually make money from it. So after graduating I began work within the investment industry straight away.

A number of positions led me to Sarasin & Partners, a mid-sized asset manager in London where I served as the deputy fund manager on a £1bn charity fund, and later the lead fund manager on two global equity funds totaling $1.5bn.

After being nominated for ‘Fund Manager of the Year’ in 2017, I made the move to Texas to take over the day-to-day management of GCI Investors. There I led the team to build GCI into an investment focused firm managing around $120m in client assets.

I’ve always been fascinated by the variety, challenge, competition and intellectual discipline of investing.

When I’m not investing in stocks, you’ll likely find me investing in small private companies through organizations such as the Houston Angel Network, and when there’s no investing happening at all, I’ll probably be sailing.
